Let me tell you, nothing teaches a travel lesson like personal experience! I always pack a change of clothes in my carry-on for those longer layovers when I can grab a quick shower between flights (check out my past blog post on showers in airports for more). But the one time I didn’t plan properly is when disaster struck—my luggage was misplaced for 36 hours.
After landing in China and realizing my bags didn’t arrive with me, I was faced with the challenge of finding something my size in a foreign country. Cue the panic! Luckily, I managed to find something at Lululemon, where sizes are standardized, but it was an unexpected expense I wasn’t prepared for.
This experience reinforced the importance of always having a change of clothes in your carry-on. Along with your essentials, such as medications, having fresh clothes handy can be a lifesaver if your luggage gets lost or delayed. It’s a small precaution that can prevent big headaches and unexpected costs.
So, next time you travel, take a few extra minutes to pack a change of clothes—because you never know when you’ll need it!
